Learning new things about yourself is often the best way to make room for positive life changes and growth! On Saturday, Atlanta Academy Youth got the opportunity to learn more about themselves by each taking a behavioral assessment test offered by RightPath Resources. The profiles they completed, called Path 4 and Path 6, had them answer questions that measured their natural, “go to” behaviors. By measuring these behaviors, the test gave them key insights into their personal strengths and weaknesses, allowing them to better understand themselves and how they could become better leaders.
After the assessments, New Look’s partner Georgia Power brought in several diverse employees to give a Motivational Minute talk. They spoke about how they found their career paths and what inspires them. At the end of the day, all youth who participated in the assessments were entered into a drawing to win a laptop computer. Zhane Simpkins was the lucky winner. In tears of gratitude, she told the group she would be paying it forward by donating it to her brother in college whose computer had just been stolen.
After the session, Holly Campbell with Georgia Power told New Look,
“I’ve been involved with UNL for years and Saturday was by far the best session I’ve experienced throughout our partnership. It’s your leadership and dedication to progressing our youth and community!!! I’m so honored to be associated with each of you and look forward to spending more time with you in the future.”
We couldn’t agree more! Thank you RightPath Resources and Georgia Power for helping make Saturday a fulfilling day for all New Look youth. These are the kind of days they will remember forever.
