Careshia Moore began volunteering with Usher’s New Look in September of 2012 as a curriculum developer and a volunteer member of the Program Committee. She joined UNL as the Curriculum Specialist for New Look in December of 2012. Today she serves as our National Program Director. Prior to joining UNL, Careshia worked as a practicing attorney in Florida and Georgia. Even while practicing law, Careshia maintained her passion for improving the lives of youth by mentoring and participating in the Henry County Education and Economics Task Force. She developed her talents for curriculum development and engaging youth as a teacher and subsequently as a juvenile diversion program site coordinator. While teaching in Immokalee, Florida, Careshia realized that providing youth with enriching experiences and opportunity is as important as learning information in a text book. As the Program Administrator with New Look, Careshia works closely with staff to ensure that curriculum for all of New Look’s programs are research based, align with appropriate standards and engage youth in meaningful activities. She also trains program coordinators on best practices of implementation of the curriculum and coordinates programming for Moguls in Training. Careshia earned a Master of Education and Juris Doctor from the University of Florida in Gainesville Florida. She is married and the mother of two children.
