Intern Update! by Rashad Cain & Vanecia Thompson, General Electric

“On Friday, John Rice, vice chairman of GE and president & CEO of GE Global Growth and Operations, stopped by to chat with all of the GE interns from Usher’s New Look. It was great getting to speak to John about his role at GE and to hear advice from him as we complete our internships. On Saturday, Vanecia and I joined other GE Interns and members of GE’s Information Technology Leadership Program to participate in a Volunteer project with Trees Atlanta doing community and park maintenance on some trees recently planted. The task was to mulch or re-mulch those trees in various communities to ensure the trees grow healthy and strong. We had a great time and it felt very rewarding to know we are putting our finger print in communities – various streets, in front of families homes, churches, schools, businesses and the park. I suppose we have one part of the summer challenge completed. Thank you New Look and GE for providing us with these amazing opportunities.” -Rashad Cain, Atlanta Mogul in Training (MIT) Program Member
