Sequoia Mitchell is a member of Usher’s New Look Moguls in Training Program. She serves as the Detroit Program Coordinator Assistant. In 2011, Sequoia joined the Usher’s New Look Detroit Chapter as a high school student. In 2012, she was selected to attend Usher’s New Look’s World Leadership Conference. She progressed into her current staff role after proving to be a stand-out peer trainer for the organization. Today, Sequoia has trained and certified over 500 youth locally and nationally. Sequoia is a graduate from Renaissance High School with Honors and currently attends Wayne State University with a major in Nursing. Sequoia is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars and the National Society of Leadership and Success. Her short term goal is to obtain her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and later become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Her long term goal is to open a family practice in an underprivileged neighborhood providing free medical services. For the past three summers, she served as an intern with Project Genesis at the Detroit Medical Center. Her experience as an intern has been rewarding. She has gained valuable experiences in the field of nursing.
