UNL Atlanta Academy 9th grader, Raymontae Jefferies, is a sickle cell warrior! Raymontae, who has been battling the disease his entire life, shared his inspiring story of perseverance at the Georgia Sickle Cell Foundation’s 35th Annual Pre-Run and Walk event. He used his talent of rap to perform two self-written songs about his experience living with the disease. Raymontae set the tone for Saturday’s race through his lyrics, which inspired participants to push on and stay positive! New Look’s James Harris, Terez Chapman and Jordyn Smith came out to support Atlanta Academy 10th grader, Lameria Primrose, who ran in the race that raised funds for the Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia. “The Real Deal”, heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, was in attendance as a supporter too! Thank you to everyone who came out, and great work Raymontae and Lameria!
