This is what the holidays are all about: Being One World, Powered by Service! Usher’s New Look New York Leadership Academy students recently teamed up with the Care More organization and artists from Image Gallery NYC to spark change in their community by making over 100 lunches and care packages for the homeless. Then, they took to the subways and the streets of NYC to distribute them. Afterwards, the students, artists and Care More volunteers shared what giving back means to them. Check out the inspiring video recap by @jeff.stashbox! Photos by Joseph V. Moore Jr. (@Sirm00re), Creative Director & Photographer for Care More.
“I think it’s important to give back to the community, because if I was in the position that they were, I would want somebody to give back to me and be able to help me stand on my own two feet.” -Cheykeem Nichols, UNL NY Leadership Academy 10th Grader
“These people have absolutely nothing, and to give them something, it gives me and them something great to look forward to.” -Tashema Lee, UNL NY Leadership Academy 10th Grader
