Last week, thanks to the help of Atlanta lawyer, John Mayoue, Usher’s New Look began a new initiative, The League of Men. The goal of the League of Men is to launch a new community of male supporters who can be a positive example for our next generation of young men. Prominent male leaders from Atlanta, the city in which we are headquartered, were invited to the office of John Mayoue for a guys-only evening, where they learned more about our innovative programs and got the chance to meet and mingle with some of UNL’s high school and college males. Over seventy men were in attendance, including Georgia Lt. Governor Casey Cagle, former NFL players, Allen Rossum, Warrick Dunn and Chuck Wiley, artist DL Warfield and many other community and business leaders.
Those who join the League of Men are able to get involved with Usher’s New Look in the following ways:
- Career Exploration/Job Shadowing
- Paid Summer Internship
- Speak at UNL Academy
- Spark Coach (Role Model)
- In-kind Donation
- Host A League of Men Event
- Networking with prominent male leaders
Thank you to everyone who attended the event! Please take our post-event survey HERE. Find your photo in the gallery below and post it on social media along with the tags @UshersNewLook and #LeagueOfMen. Stay tuned to your email for updates on our next League of Men event.
