About the Program
The Entertainment Industry Club (EIC): Live Tour Edition Internship is a paid, immersive professional experience designed to accelerate entry into the entertainment trades for young professionals. Selected interns are embedded directly alongside working industry professionals on a live R&B tour, gaining hands-on experience in one of three specialized tracks: Tour Production, Wardrobe, or Multimedia.
The Entertainment Industry Club (EIC): Live Tour Edition Internship is produced in partnership with Usher’s New Look (UNL) and the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Detroit (BGCGD). UNL is a nonprofit organization founded by Usher Raymond IV with a mission of helping young people find and maximize their spark through access to transformative educational and professional experiences.
Yes. The EIC Live Tour Internship is a paid position. Interns receive a stipend for their participation, and a per diem is provided during active tour dates. In addition, UNL and BGCGD cover all costs associated with the internship experience once you are officially hired, including travel to Detroit for orientation, transportation throughout the tour, hotel accommodations, and ground travel across all cities.
Eligibility
The internship is open to young professionals ages 18+. Applicants must have a genuine interest or foundational experience in one of the three available tracks and must be eligible and available to travel across multiple states for the full duration of the program, May 27 – August 10, 2026. This is not a performing artist internship.
Foundational skills relevant to your chosen track are expected. The program is designed to develop and elevate what you already bring, not to teach basics from scratch. Applicants should come with real exposure to their area of interest, whether through school, community, church, or professional settings.
Yes. Live touring is physically demanding. All interns should be prepared for long hours, fast-paced environments, and the physical stamina required during a multi-week touring run. Some roles require the ability to lift and carry equipment.
Yes. Interns must be eligible and available to travel across multiple states for the full duration of the program. The tour covers cities across the United States, and interns are expected to be present for every stop. All travel costs are covered by UNL/BGCGD once you are officially hired.
Yes. A background check is required for all selected interns as part of the onboarding process. Additional program agreements will be communicated upon selection.
Application Process

A final cohort of 10 interns will be selected across all three tracks. The cohort is intentionally small; only applicants who demonstrate the strongest alignment with their track’s requirements and the program’s professional standards will advance.
All applicants will be notified of their final status by May 18, 2026. If selected, be prepared to confirm your participation promptly, as the program begins May 27.

Interviews
Interviews are in-person and hands-on. In addition to a standard interview conversation, applicants will have the opportunity to showcase their industry skills in real time. Reviewers will evaluate your abilities, professionalism, decision-making, and how you collaborate under pressure.
In-person interviews will be held in Atlanta, GA and Detroit, MI between May 11–18, 2026.
Applicants are responsible for all travel and accommodation costs to attend the in-person interview. Travel coverage begins after you are officially hired.
The Internship Experience
In-person orientation begins in Detroit, MI on May 27, 2026. Interns will receive their program overview, professional expectations, safety training, and track-specific preparation ahead of the tour. Specific details for the orientation period are still being finalized and will be shared with selected interns in advance.

Yes. Once officially hired, UNL and BGCGD cover all costs associated with the internship experience. The only cost applicants bear is travel to attend the pre-hire interview.
Interns are expected to uphold professional standards throughout the entire program, including backstage conduct, media discretion, communication with team members, and representing the Entertainment Industry Club and its partners with integrity. Specific expectations are outlined in the intern handbook distributed at orientation.
