Entertainment Industry Club: Live Touring Edition

Usher’s New Look’s Entertainment Industry Club: Live Touring Edition provided emerging professionals from Atlanta and Detroit with hands-on experience on The R&B Tour featuring Usher and Chris Brown. Selected from more than 1,600 applications through a competitive virtual and in-person interview process, interns joined the tour for 2.5 months and 18 shows, working alongside industry professionals in Production, Audio, Wardrobe, Multimedia, Tour Management and Ambience.

Before hitting the road, participants completed three weeks of bootcamps across three cities, earning credentials and certifications in Production Assistant Training, CPR/First Aid and OSHA safety.

On tour, interns gained real-world experience through stadium load-ins and load-outs, show-day operations and stage preparation. Audio interns assisted with DJ sound checks, equipment setup, miking artists, dancers and special guests, and preparing microphones for background vocalists. Wardrobe interns supported quick changes, sewing, hemming, garment preparation and show-day wardrobe operations, while Multimedia interns operated cameras and captured live performances—with their shots appearing on the stadium’s big screens during the show and across social media platforms, including Usher’s official social media account.

Interns also supported backstage logistics, tour communications, hospitality and other essential elements of producing a national stadium tour. The experience transformed career exposure into real-world application, preparing participants with the technical skills, professional relationships and industry readiness to pursue careers in live entertainment.
